The Warrior is a front-line fighter who can hold ground or break through, using a Longsword or a Greatsword. MMORPG.com’s class introduction opens with the motto “Hold the Line. Break the Enemy” and describes raw power with solid defense. It is one of the four classes at Early Access.

Who should play the Warrior

Pick the Warrior if you want to fight up close and take part in every exchange. Both launch weapons are melee. The Warrior is also the first class with an announced gender option. Classes are gender locked at launch, and XLGAMES said a female Warrior is planned for the first update in December 2026. See character creation.

Longsword or Greatsword: which to start with

According to MMORPG.com, the Longsword has two paths. One is about timing, precision and control: defend, parry incoming strikes, and use skills like Closing Clash and Bladeburst. The other is the “path of blood”, which turns part of your own health into damage and then absorbs enemy HP in a cycle. The Greatsword is for the front line: advance through enemies, withstand attacks, build up Resolve, then use skills like Final Cleave, Rampage and Warrior’s Cry.

A sensible approach is to take the Longsword if you enjoy reading attacks and parrying, since Creative Director Jay Lee highlighted parrying ranged attacks in the official PvP footage. Take the Greatsword if you would rather absorb hits and push forward. A third weapon, the Gladius, is planned for the first post-launch update and is not in the launch set.

How the Warrior gets stronger

Every level gives stat points. The progression post lists six primary stats: Strength raises physical attack, Intelligence raises magic attack, Agility boosts crit chance and some physical attack, Constitution increases HP and crit resistance, Endurance increases stamina and defense, and Talent supports magic attack and reduces equipment penalties. One point always buys one stat, so there is no scaling math to do before you commit. For a melee class, a sensible approach is to put early points into Strength, then add Constitution or Endurance if you keep getting knocked down.

Each weapon has its own trait tree, and the Longsword and Greatsword trees are separate. XLGAMES used the Greatsword as its example: a damage branch unlocks Armor Break and turns Sunder into the two-hit Sweeping Slash, while a defensive branch adds Pummel Strike, which can be used while guarding and grants a shield. Trait points are separate from level. They come from Raeven’s Coilstones, each near a powerful boss, so exploring is how the Warrior grows. See skills and traits.

These are reports from creators and guide sites, not our own testing. Most were written on the October demo; Theory Forge played the Early Access build. Each line links its source.

• Longsword: a creator weapon tier list (13:33) rates it S for PvP but C for PvE, B overall, and GamerBlurb picks the Warrior as the best PvP class for duels and counterattacks. It sits at A on our PvP board. HowToVideoGame calls the Warrior with Longsword the safest first class.
• Greatsword: the same tier list (13:47) rates it A in both PvE and PvP. Nerd Bird (2:32) calls it the most forgiving first hour for PvE players. Theory Forge (1:42), after playing Early Access, died more with the Longsword and preferred the Greatsword with talents built around health-scaling shields.
• Starter build: none yet that two sources agree on.
