ArcheAge Chronicles Elemental Staff Build

Elemental Staff: reported as a Mage weapon with its own skills and trait tree.

Updated

Early Access is live. We are updating this page from launch-week patch notes, player reports and creator videos; changes land in the change log.

Class pairing: Reported· MMORPG.com Steam names Elemental Staff lightning skills. Pairing the staff to Mage is from MMORPG.com's class intro.

The Elemental Staff is the Mage’s ranged weapon. Steam names it in its October 29 balance list. The Mage pairing and most details come from MMORPG.com.

How the Elemental Staff plays

According to MMORPG.com, it is the more traditional mage kit, with twists. You use fire and lightning for powerful ranged attacks, and charged spells spread their effects across wider spaces. A sensible approach is to start here if you want to stay back and chain spells. The Wavesword is the in-your-face alternative.

Known skills and trait paths

Officially, XLGAMES reduced Wall of Fire damage for launch, and said it tuned the Elemental Staff’s lightning skills.

According to MMORPG.com:

  • Wall of Fire raises a wall of fire, damages enemies in range, staggers them and increases their Burn gauge.
  • Retain, called the staff’s “true power”, lets you recast spells you have cast without incantations and builds Energy Core.
  • Shooting Star becomes available at 10 Energy Core stacks and deals massive area damage.

Every weapon type has its own trait tree, and trait points come from Raeven’s Coilstones, each placed near a powerful boss, not from level. Nodes may give stat boosts, brand-new skills, or changes to how an existing skill works. XLGAMES says point costs and tree layouts may change with feedback.

Stat points for an Elemental Staff build

The cited Fire Mage leveling build puts Intelligence first and Constitution second, with RaidDex’s level-40 spread at 64 Intelligence and 50 Constitution. That is a reported spread, not our testing. Intelligence raises magic attack, and Constitution adds HP if casters get hit. XLGAMES has not published recommended values. The character screen shows how attack power and crit change before you lock a point in, so a sensible approach is to try a split and read the preview before you commit. See the class guide for the full class picture.

What we are still collecting

Early Access is live. We are adding the following from public sources as they appear, each with a link and a date:

  • How players and creators describe Retain and Energy Core in real fights.
  • Wall of Fire damage after its reduction, per player reports.
  • How the Burn gauge changes damage, once documented.
